    Appointment of Reggie Thein as new Audit Committee Member in place of Tan

    15 May 2001 - The Board of Directors of Brierley Investments Limited
    wishes to announce that with immediate effect:-

    1.     Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan has resigned as Member of the Audit
           Committee.

    2.     Mr Reggie Thein has replaced Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan as Member of
           the Audit Committee.

    3.     The Audit Committee now comprises:-

    Hon Philip Burdon (Chairman)

    Mr Wong Kok Siew

    Mr Reggie Thein
