                                  Announcement


Brait today announced the launch of Brait Fund IV, Africa's largest private
equity pool of capital of $880 million (R6,1 billion). The capital has been
raised from international and South African investors and includes a $200
million debt facility underwritten by two South African financial institutions.

Brait Fund IV, which closed on 21 December 2006, will be invested in various
private equity transactions sponsored, initiated and supported by Brait's
Private Equity Division.
