CHLORIDE GROUP PLC

Chloride regrets to announce that Bill Foreman, who has been suffering from
ill health in recent months, has stated his intention to retire as a director
with immediate effect. Mr Foreman, who is 65, became Chairman of Chloride in
July 1999 and has been a director since 1988. During this time he has made a
valuable contribution to the strategic development of Chloride, and the Board
wish to record their appreciation of his services.

Mr Foreman is succeeded as Chairman by Norman Broadhurst, the senior
independent director. Mr Broadhurst has been a director of Chloride since
March 1998.
