The Saint-Gobain Building Division announces the acquisition of Depot Service
Carrelage by Point P Group.  This company specializes in the distribution of
tiling and other flooring products.  Depot Service Carrelage operates a network
of 10 outlets in Rhones Alpes (Southeastern France) and has annual sales of
about 36.6 million euros (240 million French Francs).  This regional leader
complements the national leadership position of Point P in one of its core
businesses: tiling.

The Building Distribution Division, which includes such trades-name as Point P,
Cedeo, Lapeyre-GME and K par K, generated sales of around 4 billion Euros in
1999, an increase of 20% compared to 1998.
