ROSELAND, N.J., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Education Centers
(CEC) is pleased to announce a 286-bed expansion of Delaney Hall,
the company's New Jersey-based residential treatment center. The
expansion will increase the total capacity of Delaney Hall to 1,012
beds. Funding for expansion has been committed by CentraCore
Properties Trust (NYSC Listed CPV). "The Delaney Hall expansion
represents Community Education Centers' commitment to providing
evidence-based reentry services to diverse correctional
populations. CEC is proud of its ability to assist government
bodies in need of quality programming that ultimately reduces
recidivism," said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC. Community
Education Centers (CEC) has been providing effective reentry
services to offenders for decades through its many treatment and
education programs. Underscoring the efficacy of CEC's programs is
an outcome research study published in 2004, which demonstrated
that participation in one of CEC's New Jersey programs resulted in
a 30 percent reduction in the rate of recidivism at one year
post-incarceration. Further, research conducted by the New Jersey
Department of Corrections concluded that CEC's programs have been
instrumental in reducing walkaway, reincarceration, and recidivism
rates in the State. In fact, CEC's programs have actually led to a
reversal in the prison population growth trend in New Jersey, in
sharp contrast to other states where prison populations continue to
escalate. The Delaney Hall expansion will meet the needs of the
three referring agencies, including the New Jersey State Parole
Board, Essex County, and Union County. Currently, Delaney Hall
provides substance abuse treatment, electronic monitoring,
outpatient, and alumni services for 726 male and female residents
referred by these agencies. Delaney Hall also provides
gender-specific treatment services through its 138-bed women's
program. CEC's comprehensive reentry services include assessment
and treatment for alcohol and drug abuse, risk assessment,
job-readiness training and life-skills preparation, a family
services program, and a strong Alumni Association. In addition, CEC
offers a full range of juvenile treatment services, including
residential and wilderness programs for at-risk youths ages 13 to
18. Each CEC program is designed to meet the needs of the referring
agency and the needs of the individuals referred. Community
Education Centers is the largest provider of rehabilitative
services to the criminal justice system in America. CEC' facilities
provide a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential
correctional services with an empirically document record of
reducing recidivism. The company operates 17 residential facilities
and five day reporting/outpatient programs in seven states,
treating over 6,000 clients daily. DATASOURCE: Community Education
