RNS No 6201n CARISBROOKE SHIPPING PLC 4 May 1999  Carisbrooke announces that
Peter Nicholson, the Company's Chairman, has today resigned as a director of the
Company with immediate effect.  The Company would like to thank Mr Nicholson for
his advice and guidance over the last nine years and wish him well for the
future.  David Poulton, currently a non-executive director of the Company is to
take over the role as Chairman of the Board. In addition, by mutual consent,
Singer & Friedlander have today resigned with immediate effect as the Company's
nominated adviser.  The Company is pleased to report the appointment of Rowan
Dartington & Co. Limited, the Company's current nominated brokers, in their
