                          EnCore Oil Team Appointment


EnCore Oil plc ("EnCore" or "the Company"), the AIM-quoted exploration and
production company is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Johnson as
Group Financial Controller.

Chris, who joined EnCore this month from Tandberg Television where he was Group
Financial Controller, has 11 years' of experience in financial roles within the
oil and gas industry. His previous roles include Group Reporting Manager and
then VP Finance USA at Enterprise Oil plc and he worked in an oil and gas audit
team at KPMG London.

Chris is a qualified chartered accountant and has a degree in Accounting and
Finance from Sheffield Hallam University.

Commenting on his appointment, EnCore Chief Executive, Alan Booth said: "We are
delighted to welcome Chris to the team. He brings a wealth of experience in his
field and will be a great addition to the Company. As a team, we continue to
