                         Resignation of Nicholas Jeffrey


The Board of Eurocity announces that, as stated in the Offer Document dated 26th
November 2002, Nicholas Jeffrey, the Chairman of Eurocity, resigned from the
Board of the Company on 20th December 2002 in consequence of the Offer being
declared unconditional in all respects on 18th December 2002.
