Transaction in own shares

The Equity Partnership Investment Company plc announces that on 4 May 2011, it purchased 100,000 Income Shares ('the Shares') at a price of 101.75 pence per share.

These purchases were made under the authority granted at the Company's EGM on 4 August 2010 and the Shares will be cancelled.

Following the above purchases, the Company has 17,352,483 Income Shares in issue.
