    Substantial Shareholder

    Cape Lambert Iron Ore Limited ("the Company") (ASX: CFE, AIM: CLIO) received notification
today that Evraz Group S.A. has a relevant interest in 72,083,164 Ordinary Shares in the
Company, representing 19.0% of the Company's total voting rights, following the transactions set out below:

    *     56,050,143 Ordinary Shares acquired on 16 July 2008 as result of exercise of ASX listed options at A$0.277 per share
    *     1,834,622 Ordinary Shares acquired on 2 June 2008 on market at a price of A$0.6491 per share
    *     367,012 Ordinary Shares acquired on 23 June 2008 on market at a price of A$0.7337 per share

    The nature of the relevant interest Evraz Group S.A. has in the 72,083,164 Ordinary Shares is as follows:

    *     the registered holder of 60,083,164 Ordinary Shares is Merrill Lynch (Australia) Nominees Pty Ltd
    *     Evraz Group S.A. has voting power of more than 20% in Delong Holdings Limited, which holds 12,000,000 Ordinary Shares in the
Company
