The Board of The Food & Drink Group plc ("FDG" or "the Group") announces that
David Pickard has decided to retire as a Non Executive Director of the Group and
will consequently step down from the Board with immediate effect.

David has served as a Non-Executive Director since May 2003 and has been an
invaluable member of the team which has completed the turnaround and
repositioning of the Group into a successful quality bar operator.  His depth of
experience as a property specialist, with a particular focus on licensed
retailing, has been a real asset to the Board over the last three and a half
years.

The Board would like to record its appreciation of the valuable contribution
made by Mr Pickard during his tenure as a Non-Executive Director of FDG and
wishes him well in his retirement.
