In accordance with Listing Rule
12.4.6, The Global Smaller Companies Trust plc (the 'Company')
announces today that it has purchased the following number of its
ordinary shares of 2.5 pence each on the London Stock Exchange
through Stifel Nicolaus Europe Limited.
