Notification of Major Interests in Shares

The Company received a notification on 27 January 2005 from Hermes
Administration Services Limited informing it that Royal Mail Pension Trustees
Limited and Possfund Custodian Trustee Ltd have a material interest in 1,133,034
ordinary shares, representing 3.058% of the Company's issued ordinary share
capital which currently stands at 37,050,778 shares.

The shares are registered in the name of PossFund Nominees Ltd.
