The Board of Highway Insurance Holdings Plc is pleased to announce the
appointment of Ian Campbell as a non-executive director of the Company with
immediate effect. Mr Campbell, a Chartered Accountant, will succeed
Non-executive Chairman Richard Gamble as Chairman of the Audit Committee and
will also join the Board of Highway Insurance Company Limited, subject to FSA
approval.



At the same time, non-executive director Jan Shawe is stepping down from the
boards of Highway Insurance Holdings Plc and Highway Insurance Company Limited,
also with immediate effect.



Richard Gamble, Non-executive Chairman said:



"I am delighted to welcome Ian Campbell to the Board. Ian has a wealth of
business experience and I am sure he will make an excellent contribution. His
accountancy and internal audit background will be particularly valuable in his
role as Chairman of the Audit Committee."

Biographical Details for Ian Campbell



Ian Campbell, age 57, is a Chartered Accountant who was originally with
Deloittes and was Chief Internal Auditor of British Airways for eight years. He
has also held senior appointments in procurement solutions and Internet security
businesses.
