                HEYWOOD WILLIAMS GROUP PLC
                             
Later today, Heywood Williams Group PLC is hosting a visit
by  analysts  to  Spectus  Systems  in  Macclesfield,  the
Group's PVC-U extrusion operation acquired as part of  the
Spectus-Kestrel purchase in April 1998.
 
The  principal  purposes  of  the  visit  are  to  provide
analysts with a detailed background to the UK PVC-U window
and door markets which Heywood Williams serves, put the UK
businesses  of Heywood Williams into context and  to  show
analysts the modern extrusion facility at Macclesfield.
 
Michael  Broadhead, Chief Executive, who  is  hosting  the
trip   for  Heywood  Williams,  will  make  the  following
comments:
 
"The   performance  of  our  markets  and  our  operations
continue  to reflect the expectation we expressed  at  our
Annual  General  Meeting in April and we remain  confident
that 1999 will be a year of further progress.
 
"On 11th June 1999, we announced that our PVC-U window and
door  profile extrusion businesses, operating in the names
of HW Systems and Spectus will now operate as one business
under the name of HW Spectus.  This move will allow us  to
reduce  overheads and operate as a more cohesive force  in
the rigid profile sector of our market."
