                  HEYWOOD WILLIAMS GROUP PLC ("the Company")

Pursuant to Hamish Bryce's remuneration agreement with Heywood Williams Group
PLC, it is announced that on 22 September 1999, Mr Bryce acquired 1093 ordinary
shares of 25p each in the Company at a price of 254 per share.

Following this purchase Mr Bryce is interested in a total of 33,461 ordinary
shares.
