                    Appointment of Non Executive Director



Innovision Research & Technology plc is pleased to announce the appointment of
Dr Bruce Smith, CBE, as a Non Executive Director of the Company with immediate
effect.


In addition to founding and growing the highly successful Smith System
Engineering Limited (MD/ Chairman 1971-1997), Dr Smith is and has been
involved in a wide variety of senior roles in the electronics and high
technology industries including Smith Institute for Industrial Mathematics and
System Engineering, Industrial Technology Securities Limited and Southampton
Innovations Limited. Amongst other roles he is currently Chairman of the
National Space Science Centre, Chairman of the British National Space Centre
Earth Observation Programme Board and was, until recently, Chairman of the
Economic and Social Research Council.
