repurchase is 234,000.

The total number of Hedge Fund Shares of 1p each remaining in issue (excluding
234,000 Hedge Fund Shares of 1p each held in Treasury) is 22,483,076.

UK Equity Shares

The Company announces that, on 10 October 2008, it repurchased 92,000 UK Equity
Shares of 1p each at 78p per share, to be held as Treasury shares.

The total number of UK Equity Shares held in Treasury following this repurchase
is 2,610,500.

The total number of UK Equity Shares of 1p each remaining in issue (excluding
2,610,500 UK Equity Shares of 1p each held in Treasury) is 44,997,709.
