                       TERMINATION OF MERGER DISCUSSIONS


Inveresk PLC ("Inveresk" or "the Company") announces that it is no longer in
merger discussions with Klippan AB ("Klippan").  Inveresk is actively pursuing
discussions with investors with a view to re-capitalising the Company via an
equity fundraising.  It is currently intended that Klippan would make a
significant contribution to any re-capitalisation of Inveresk.


A further announcement will be made in relation to the Company's plans to raise
additional funds as soon as practicable.
