We have today been advised that HSBC Global Custody Nominee (UK) Ltd. have sold
1,000,000 shares in Inveresk Plc at a price of 17p per share on the 20th April
2004. This now decreases their shareholding to a total of 16,259,083 ordinary
shares which equates to 11.31% of the Company's issued share capital.
