          Substantial Shareholder Notification


The  Company  was  today informed by The  Wellcome  Trust
that,  as  a  result  of a purchase of  118,000  ordinary
shares  of  10p each in the Company ("Ordinary  Shares"),
their  interest  has  risen to 328,000  Ordinary  Shares,
representing 3.44 per cent. of the issued ordinary  share
capital.  This holding is registered in the name of State
Street Nominees Ltd.
