             APPOINTMENT OF DAVID BREWER AS NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

London Asia Capital plc ("London Asia"), the Greater China focused investment
and merchant banking group, is pleased to announce the appointment of David
William Brewer CMG as a non-executive director with effect from today.

Mr Brewer, aged 64, is one of the leading experts in the UK on the financial
services sector in China. His experience in China dates back to 1981, when he
set up the China office for the Sedgwick Group, making it the first Western
insurance broker to open an office, and in 1993 he was responsible for obtaining
the first authorisation of an insurance broker in China.

Mr Brewer is currently an Alderman of the City of London, was Sheriff in
2002-2003, and in November it is anticipated that he will become the next Lord
Mayor of London.

Mr Brewer is the founding Chairman of the CBBC/IFSL China Financial Services
Committee. He is a Council Member and Honorary Treasurer of the China-Britain
Business Council (CBBC), the UK's leading agency helping British companies do
business in China. He is a also a Senior Consultant, specialising in Asia, to
International Financial Services, London (IFSL) the trade body responsible for
promoting the international activities and expertise of UK-based financial
services businesses (formerly known as British Invisibles).

He is also a Member of the Advisory Board of both the Chatham House China
Programme and the China-Europe Financial Exchange.

Mr Brewer is a consultant to Marsh Inc, Asia-Pacific Region, part of the Marsh &
McLennan global risk management group which bought Sedgwick a few years ago.
