London Asia, the AIM listed (code LDC.L) Asian focused investment group,
announces that, on 12 December, it purchased into treasury 250,000 of its own
ordinary shares by a purchase in the AIM market at a price of 6.68p per share.
The acquisition price represents a discount of over 50% to the Company's last
published net assets per share of 13.6p.


Jack Wigglesworth, Chairman of London Asia, commented: "This acquisition is part
of the programme of share buy backs announced last month to address the
difference between the Company's share price and published net assets."


Following this transaction, London Asia's capital consists of 327,378,990
ordinary shares with voting rights and London Asia holds 250,000 ordinary shares
in treasury. Therefore the total number of voting rights in London Asia is 3
27,128,990.


The above figure (327,128,990) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine whether they are required to
notify their interests in, or change to their interest in, London Asia under the
FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
