                      COMMENCEMENT OF RC DRILLING AT MAROOCHYDORE COPPER PROJECT

Murchison United NL (ASX: MUR, AIM: MUU) is pleased to announce that a program of Reverse Circulation  (RC)
percussion  drilling will commence this week at its Maroochydore Copper Project Joint  Venture  in  Western
Australia. The Maroochydore Project is a Joint Venture with Aditya Birla Minerals Limited (ASX: ABY).

The  program,  comprising  13  holes for 1,500 metres, is designed in part to  confirm  the  existing  JORC
compliant  resource  at the Maroochydore Project of 50 million tonnes @ 1% Cu for 0.51  million  tonnes  of
contained  copper and 20,000 tonnes contained cobalt (at a 0.5% Cu cut-off). All RC holes will  be  drilled
within the existing resource boundary.

Due to the limited availability of the RC drill rig, it may not be possible to complete the full program in
the short term. The results of the drilling will be released to the market when available.

A  six-hole  diamond  drilling program has also been planned to further confirm the  resource  and  provide
samples for metallurgical test work. The timing of this program is dependent on rig availability.

The  Maroochydore  Copper Project is strategically located 100km southeast of Aditya Birla's  Nifty  Copper
Mine, near Telfer, WA.

Murchison is continuing to focus on the exploration and evaluation of its portfolio of uranium projects  in
West Africa.
