MAXIMA RNS RELEASE: ("Maxima" or "the company")
Maxima Holdings plc (AIM: MXM), the IT business systems and
managed services company, has announced further sales successes for
its Business Solutions and Unified Infrastructure operations, with
contracts from Amtico International to host and manage core
business IT applications, and with Ryanair to support the airline's
business-critical web booking application using Citrix's latest web
acceleration technology.
Accelerating web booking performance for Ryanair Maxima is
Ireland's leading Citrix Solution Adviser, and has implemented
seven Citrix NetScaler MPX 9500 hardware appliances to enhance
server load balancing, improve web traffic management, increase
security levels and substantially lower Ryanair's online operating
costs. Maxima is also supporting the NetScaler implementation with
a three-year support agreement, and is also providing ongoing
day-to-day support for Ryanair's broader Citrix-enabled
virtualisation infrastructure. According to Ryanair's IT Director,
Eric Neville: "Online booking is obviously a critical service for
Ryanair - particularly as our traffic volumes continue to grow - so
it's essential that our Web infrastructure performs to the highest
level. Having assessed the market it was clear that Maxima not only
had the in-depth expertise in Citrix's core web acceleration
technologies, but also had the proven implementation skills and
competitive prices we required."
Hosting and managing core business IT applications for Amtico
International Amtico International - the driving force behind some
of the world's leading flooring brands - has selected Maxima to
host and manage its core IT systems, including its
business-critical QAD Enterprise Applications and the company's
office software, within a secure hosted Maxima environment.
Maxima's combination of hosting capabilities and its in-depth
expertise in QAD Enterprise Applications, will help deliver lower
operating costs and increased flexibility for Amtico's major ERP
deployment. "We're confident that Maxima's specialist enterprise
applications team will help us to manage our Microsoft applications
and specialist ERP solution more effectively, while the company's
best practice hosting infrastructure will allow us to optimise the
running of our QAD Enterprise Applications - helping us to increase
our IT agility, and reduce the risks associated with owning and
operating complex enterprise applications across the broader Amtico
business," said Amtico International's Group Finance Director,
Andrew Elsby-Smith. Maxima Chief Executive Officer Graham Kingsmill
added:"We're delighted that major organisations such as Amtico
International and Ryanair are leveraging our comprehensive skills
and expertise in key areas such as hosting, managed services,
