Total Voting Rights and Capital

In accordance with the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, New Star
Asset Management Group PLC hereby notifies that as at today its capital
consists of 268,580,859 ordinary shares of 25p each with voting rights. New
Star Asset Management Group PLC holds no shares in treasury. The total number
of voting rights in New Star Asset Management Group PLC is therefore
268,580,859, which is the figure which should be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, New
Star Asset Management Group PLC shares under the FSA's Disclosure and
Transparency Rules.
