TouchSound technology to make waves
at Computex 2010
NXT plc, a provider of unique sound solutions, best known for its flat panel
loudspeaker and touch screen technologies, is pleased to announce that its
latest technology, TouchSoundTM, will be showcased by selected touch screen
companies at Computex 2010 (www.computextaipei.com.tw) to be held from 1 to 5
June at the Taiwan World Trade Center in Taipei.
TouchSoundTM is a combination of NXT's SoundVu technology, which transforms a
transparent panel into a loudspeaker, and its Bending Wave Haptics technology,
which produces a tactile feedback from touch screens. The resulting technology
is capable of providing a tactile feedback at the precise points of contact on a
touch screen while delivering high quality audio directly from the screen
display. TouchSoundTM has an additional key characteristic through its ability
to providing unique tactile feedback at different points on the screen
simultaneously. The application of touch technology is growing across many
different sectors including consumer electronics, commercial products and
industrial equipment. The future growth rate for touch is expected to greatly
exceed that of the display industry.
TouchSoundTM applications, in each case operating on the Windows 7 OS, can be
experienced at:
Y eTurboTouch - Located at G244 - G248 and B343 - B347 in Hall 3, eTurboTouch
[manufactures touch screen displays] and will be showcasing an 18.5" multitouch
all-in-one PC equipped with TouchSoundTM technology.
Y Apex Material Technology Corporation (AMT) - A leading designer and
manufacturer of touch screen technology products, AMTs booth at G666 in Hall 3
will feature a TouchSound-equipped 19.5" five wire resistive touch monitor.
Y ET&T Technology - ET&T, a provider of touch screen solutions, will show a 20"
infrared multitouch monitor on their booth at C330 in Hall 1. This monitor will
be the similar to the 42" TouchSound LCD display screen demonstrated at the NXT
booth in the recently held Hong Kong Electronics Fair spring edition.
As will be demonstrated in the Computex booths listed above, TouchSoundTM in
larger screens has a vast array of potential applications, from devices such as
tablets, to ATMs, Point of Sale and Information Kiosks.
