Principle Capital Investment Trust plc - New Ordinary Shares Issue


The Board of Principle Capital Holdings S.A. (the "Company") is pleased to note
the publication today of the Prospectus for the Placing and Admission of up to
20 million New Ordinary Shares in Principle Capital Investment Trust plc
("PCIT"), currently the largest fund within the Company's activist investment
division. As recently reported in the Company's preliminary results for 2006,
during the period from 28 April 2006 (when PCIT was 70% invested) and 30 April
2007, PCIT's unaudited net asset value rose by 26.4% (net income reinvested)
while, over the same period, the FTSE All-Share (Total Return) Index, rose only
12.7%.

The Issue Price of the New Ordinary Shares will be the Net Asset Value per Share
as at the Calculation Date (expected to be 6 July 2007) plus 2 per cent to cover
issue expenses. Teather & Greenwood, the sponsor to the Placing, has to date
received commitments for approximately #12 million. Based on PCIT's unaudited
net assets of approximately #110 million as at 8 June 2007 and the commitments
received to date, PCIT's net assets would increase following the issue to
approximately #122 million and if fully subscribed to approximately #134
million.

The Placing is subject to shareholder approval at an Extraordinary General
Meeting to be held on 11 July 2007.

Brian Myerson, Chief Executive, commented: "We are pleased with the strong
performance of PCIT which has led to continuing investor demand. Following on
from the placing with E.I.M. SA, announced in May, the placing we are announcing
today will bring further new investors onto the register, as well as providing
existing institutional shareholders with an opportunity to increase their
holdings. We expect to invest the new funds in the near term and I am confident
that the strong pipeline of new opportunities and continuing inherent value
within the existing portfolio will enable us to generate consistently superior
returns going forward."
