                   Result of Extraordinary General Meeting -
                     Principle Capital Investment Trust plc

The Board of Principle Capital is pleased to note the announcement made by
Principle Capital Investment Trust plc ("PCIT") (Ticker:PCIT), that at the
Extraordinary General Meeting held today, the resolution to approve the proposed
issue of New Ordinary Shares was passed. Accordingly, 10,544,499 New Ordinary
Shares are to be allotted today under the Placing at an Issue Price of 127.8264p
per share, raising net proceeds of #13.2 million. It is expected that admission
of such New Ordinary Shares to the Official List, and dealings therein on the
London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities, will commence on 12
July 2007.

Following the completion of the fundraising, Principle Capital now has over #158
million ($318 million) of fee paying funds under management in its Activist
Investment Division. Group funds under management will be #214 million ($430
million) of fee paying funds under management (allowing for cross interests).
Allowing for cross interests and the interests of our JV partners in the Proteus
Property Group, fee paying funds under management will be #191.4 million ($385
million).

Terms used in this announcement bear the same meaning as those used in the
announcement by PCIT dated 15 June 2007 unless the context otherwise requires.
