ROYAL LONDON UK EQUITY & INCOME TRUST PLC

The Company has today been notified that, following the recent placing, Real
Estate Opportunities Limited now have an interest in 7,500,000 ordinary shares 
of 1p each representing 10.71% of the issued share capital.


Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited also notified the Company that they have
acquired 5,500,000 ordinary shares of 1p each on behalf of discretionary funds 
under management.


Therefore the total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers
Limited and its associated companies is 13,000,000 ordinary shares of 1p each,
representing 18.57% of the issued share capital of that class.
