ROYAL LONDON UK EQUITY & INCOME TRUST PLC ("the Company")

DISCLOSURE OF INTERESTS IN SHARES


The Company was today notified that, as a result of the appointment of
Liquidator for the Leveraged Income Fund Limited, the aggregate number of shares 
in the Company managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ("AAML") and its 
associated companies has reduced by 1,423,800 shares. AAML's aggregate interest 
now stands at 12,946,065 ordinary shares of 1 penny each, representing 18.49% 
(previously: 20.53%) of the issued share capital of that class.
