Substantial shareholding

The Company has been notified that, on 8 January 2002, The Goldman Sachs Group,
Inc ("GS Inc") was interested, by attribution only, in a total of 8,325,000 
ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the Company, representing 11.89% of the 
issued share capital of that class.

The interest in 8,325,000 shares arises from a beneficial interest held by
Goldman Sachs International, a direct subsidiary of GS Inc.
