                       Statement re Reuters shareholding


Datamonitor announces that the remaining Reuters shareholding has been placed
with leading UK institutions



Reuters took a 20% stake in the company in 1998. In June 2003 they released 5%,
and released a further 5% on 8th October 2003. Today, the remaining 10% stake
has been placed. This transaction follows the positive trading update given
earlier this month.



Reuters announced their strategy earlier this year of divesting themselves of
their minority interests in non core businesses. This transaction is part of
that strategy and has no impact on the on going commercial relationship between
the two companies which will continue. Datamonitor is grateful to Reuters for
the role they have played as shareholders . At the same time this transaction
adds leading UK funds and institutions to the shareholder list and improves
liquidity in the stock.
