"Today's test engineers employ a combination of complementary
best-in-class test automation tools to effectively validate
performance of the networks systems and services," said Elisabeth
Rainge, director of Network Software at IDC "The TAA enables test
labs to choose from a suite of customer-centric, device-agnostic,
tools targeted at advancing a specific area of their existing
automation framework or a complete test automation framework. This
framework will improve test productivity, time to market and cost
of ownership for operating automated test systems." Spirent
Communications, an industry leader in performance analysis and
service management solutions, has deployed the Automation Continuum
framework, implementing it across a remotely accessible global
network of seven integrated and independently automated test labs.
In doing so, Spirent now enables network equipment manufacturer and
service provider customers to easily demonstrate, utilize and
realize the benefits of this advanced test lab automation solution
for their testing needs. TAA's effort supports Spirent's overall
technology backbone for its Global Services to cost effectively
advance automation and drive productivity in the testing process
while simultaneously reducing capital expenditures. "The physical
labs are geographically dispersed around the world and emulate our
customers' operational structure where test systems including
automation solutions support a test environment where the
customers' device or service infrastructure is the focal-point"
said Neil Anderson, vice president Spirent Global Services.
"Customers want to leverage their significant test assets
seamlessly across continents and time zones, and implementing the
customer-centric Test Lab Automation Continuum frameworks allows
them to do that like never before." The sites currently comprising
this fully-automated global test bed include Sunnyvale, London,
Paris, Beijing, Ottawa, Plano and Calabasas. This global test lab
is in daily use by Spirent's global services team to execute
customer projects and can be demonstrated at Spirent Proof of
Concept (SPoC) Labs and Collaboration Centers in Sunnyvale, London
and Beijing. The TAA has expanded it membership with the latest
addition of Anue Systems who joins the alliance to partner with its
other members - EdenTree Technologies, FanFare, MRV and Spirent
Communications. Together the members are delivering a proven track
record of unsurpassed automation technology and continue to
leverage their combined expertise to advance the Test Lab
Automation Continuum. About Spirent Communications plc Spirent
