Tribute to Veterans of U.S. Armed Forces Tours California Dignity
Memorial(R) Vietnam Wall Experience Visits Monrovia, Corona Del Mar
and Oceanside LOS ANGELES, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dignity
Memorial(R) Vietnam Wall Experience, a traveling, 3/4-scale replica
of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., has begun its
touring season in California, where it will make the first three of
19 cross-country stops. The traveling exhibit is intended to honor
all U.S. service men and women and is dedicated to Vietnam
veterans. Dignity Memorial funeral, cremation and cemetery service
providers bring The Vietnam Wall Experience to communities across
the United States, allowing those who might not travel to the
nation's capital the chance to experience The Wall in their
communities. Admission is free and each exhibit is open to the
public 24 hours a day. The Wall's first exhibition took place April
9-11 at Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, Calif. From there, a
motorcycle escort of Vietnam veterans will lead The Wall to Pacific
View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar where it will be on display
April 16-18. The last California exhibition, hosted by Eternal
Hills Memorial Park, will take place near the Oceanside Pier April
23-25. "We are proud to bring 'The Vietnam Wall Experience' to
California to commemorate the lives lost in Vietnam and pay tribute
to the veterans of the U.S. military," said Fran Motzkin of Pacific
View Memorial Park. "During this time of conflict in Iraq, we hope
The Wall provides an outlet for those wishing to show their
patriotism and support for all men and women who serve our country
in the armed forces." Since its inception in 1990, The Wall has
been visited by millions of Americans during exhibitions in more
than 100 cities throughout the country. After visiting California,
The Wall will travel to Baton Rouge, La., May 7-9. The
240-foot-long, eight-foot-high faux-granite replica is inscribed
with the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died or are
missing in Vietnam. The Dignity Memorial network includes 1,239
funeral service locations, 406 cemeteries and 141 crematoria
providing funeral and cemetery services in North America as of
December 31, 2003. To learn more, visit
