SMF TECHNOLOGIES PLC - CHANGE OF NAME TO FORTFIELD INVESTMENTS PLC


The Board of SMF Technologies plc ("the Company") announce that the change of
the Company's name has now become effective and the Company will henceforth
trade as Fortfield Investments plc. Trading under the new name will take effect
from tomorrow, 11 December 2003.

The Board continues to look for opportunities for using the Company's quotation
and funds. A number of parties have contacted the Company and the Board is
examining the merits of outline proposals with a view to securing a reverse
takeover which will provide an opportunity to restore shareholder value.

As referred to previously the Board will be seeking to raise further funds to
increase the attractiveness of the Company as a shell.
