The Board of United Energy plc announces that shareholder approval was
obtained at an Extraordinary General Meeting held at 11.00 am on Monday, 24
May 1999 for the disposal of AmBrit Energy Corp.'s US oil and gas assets.  The
expected completion date for the disposal is Tuesday, 1 June 1999.
