    Board Changes

    Van Dieman Mines plc (AIM: VDM) (the "Company"), the AIM listed mining company which is developing its 100% owned tin - sapphire mines
in Tasmania, Australia, announces the appointment of, Bill Wise and Harry Stacpoole as Non Executive Directors with immediate effect.
    
 
    William (Bill) Tasman Wise, aged 65, has over 40 years of experience in the Australian mining and smelting industry and has held several
senior management positions in the disciplines of human resources, production and global marketing. He has a Bachelors in Economics degree
in Economics and has completed the Program for Management Development from the Harvard Business School.  

    Mr Wise holds the following positions where he has been acting in the capacity of a director:

    Lee Kee Holdings Limited                               None

    Mr Wise was a Director of Australian Phosphate Corporation Limited which was put into voluntary liquidation on 5 October 1992. No
creditors remain outstanding and all legal administrative obligations have been honoured from this transaction. There is no other
information that is required to be disclosed pursuant to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules. 

    Henry (Harry) James Stacpoole, aged 73, has 35 years of experience in developing mining projects in Australia and other parts of the
world. He is a life member of the Tasmanian Minerals Council and has served on the board of several mining companies. 

    Mr Stacpoole holds the following positions where he has been acting in the capacity of a director:

    Mr Stacpoole resigned as a Director of Beaconsfield Gold N.L ("Beaconsfield") on 25 June 2001. Beaconsfield was placed into receivership
on 26 June 2001 and remained as such until the receiving manager retired on 12 March 2004 following satisfaction of creditors. There is no
other information that is required to be disclosed pursuant to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
