Eni SpA (E), Italy's biggest energy company by market value, will pay a "superior" dividend yield, beating that of its peers, Chief Financial Officer Alessandro Bernini said Friday.

With "superior" Eni means a which will be "higher" than its peer group, which includes rivals such as Total SA (TOT), the CFO said on a conference call to comment on first-quarter results.

The CFO declined to give a specific monetary value for future dividends.

Eni has said it plans to pay a dividend of EUR1.30 a share on its 2008 profits.
