Kosmos Energy will accept final bids for its stake in the large Jubilee oil field offshore Ghana this week and aims to make its final selection within weeks, a person familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires Wednesday.

There has been a lot of interest in the stake from major international oil companies and state-owned companies, the person said. Kosmos will close its data room this week and aims to slim down bids to a short list of around six candidates, the person said.

Jubilee has resources of around 1.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent and is operated by Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN). Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) is also a partner in the field.
