The following table lists unplanned and planned production
outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Most recently, ConocoPhillips (COP) Monday will begin about six
weeks of turnaround maintenance at several process units, including
an FCCU, at its Sweeny, Texas, refinery.
Shell Oil Co. (RDSA) Sunday began about two weeks of work on a
flare gas recovery compressor for the East Property flare. The
filing to Texas state environmental regulators lists a
hydroprocessing unit as a source of emissions and flaring, but it
is not clear whether the maintenance will have an impact on
operations.
And operations at BP's (BP) Texas City, Texas, oil refinery were
briefly affected Saturday when weather-related activity caused a
sudden reduction of steam supply to the plant.
Valero Energy (VLO) said Thursday that the process of shutting
all units for planned turnaround maintenance at its Three Rivers,
Texas, refinery started Wednesday. The work is expected to take
approximately 24 days.
Marathon Oil (MRO) said Thursday that its Catlettsburg,
Kentucky, refinery was being restarted after a storm Wednesday
caused all units to go off-line. There is no estimate on when the
plant would return to normal operations.
Valero Energy (VLO) said Tuesday that it is shutting down the
coker unit and the gasifier complex at its Delaware City, Del.,
refinery until market conditions improve.
And Frontier Oil (FTO) said Tuesday that a reformer unit at its
Eldorado, Kansas, refinery was back at planned rates after
restarting on Thursday; the unit was shut on August 27 due to a
fire.
