The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Most recently, Sunoco Inc. (SUN) Monday began the process of restarting the FCCU in the Girard Point section of its Philadelphia refinery following about five-weeks of planned turnaround maintenance, the Co. said on Tuesday.

Marathon Oil (MRO) said Tuesday that its Robinson, Illinois, refinery was returning to normal operations after losing power to some units when a small plane hit power lines affiliated with the grid servicing the refinery.

ExxonMobil (XOM) Tuesday shut FCCU no. 3 for maintenance. Emmissions associated with the shutdown process will take two days. A restart estimate is not available.

Tesoro Corp. (TSO) Monday reported an on-going flaring event at its Los Angeles-are refinery in Wilmington, California. The cause of the event is unclear.

ConocoPhillips (COP) Monday will begin about six weeks of turnaround maintenance at several process units, including an FCCU, at its Sweeny, Texas, refinery.

Shell Oil Co. (RDSA) Sunday began about two weeks of work on a flare gas recovery compressor for the East Property flare. The filing to Texas state environmental regulators lists a hydroprocessing unit as a source of emissions and flaring, but it is not clear whether the maintenance will have an impact on operations.

And operations at BP's (BP) Texas City, Texas, oil refinery were briefly affected Saturday when weather-related activity caused a sudden reduction of steam supply to the plant.

Valero Energy (VLO) said Thursday that the process of shutting all units for planned turnaround maintenance at its Three Rivers, Texas, refinery started Wednesday. The work is expected to take approximately 24 days.

Marathon Oil (MRO) said Thursday that its Catlettsburg, Kentucky, refinery was being restarted after a storm Wednesday caused all units to go off-line. There is no estimate on when the plant would return to normal operations.
