The Yemen LNG gas liquefaction plant started producing liquefied natural gas on Thursday, French oil major and lead shareholder of the project Total SA (TOT) said.

"The plant started production with the first train while the construction of the second train is being completed," Total said in a statement, adding that the total production capacity of the unit will reach 6.7 million metric tons of LNG per year.
