Meggitt PLC (MGGT.LN), an international company specializing in high performance components and sub-systems for aerospace, defense and energy, said Monday that Meggitt Sensing Systems has been selected by Snecma, Safran Group to supply a key package of sensor products for the LEAP engine.

MAIN FACTS:

-Meggitt estimates that the agreement will generate gross sales including original equipment, spares and repairs of more than $200 million over the life of these engines.

-The LEAP is an entirely new baseline turbofan engine developed by CFM International that will power the next generation of single-aisle commercial jets.

-The agreement covers the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1C versions of the engine selected to power the Airbus A320neo and Comac C919 respectively.

-Meggitt will supply sensors right across the engine, measuring vibration, shaft speeds and a range of critical temperatures.

-LEAP engine operators will be supported by Meggitt's global customer service organization.

-Meggitt shares closed Friday at 400 pence, valuing the company at GBP3.11 billion.
