Austrian construction company Strabag SE (STR.VI) Friday said it
received a contract to design and build the majority of a tunneling
and civil works at a power plant in Chile, southeast of
Santiago.
MAIN FACTS:
-The contract is worth around $490 million and involves work on
the Alto Maipo Hydroelectrical Power Plant.
-The client is a subsidiary of Chile based AES Gener
(AESGENER.SN), which is owned by the AES Corporation (AES) in the
U.S..
-The works include the detail design engineering and
construction of underground and civil works of the two
hydroelectric plants Alfalfal II and Las Lajas.
-The design and construction period starts in Nov 2012 and will
last for about four and a half years.
-The hydroelectric complex will have a total capacity of around
531 megawatt.
