Anthem Foundation to Fund Scholarships For American Association of Diabetes Educators Annual Meeting CHICAGO, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Association of Diabetes Educators' (AADE) Research and Education Foundation announces that it is the recipient of a three-year grant from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation. The grant will fund $1,500 scholarships to allow diabetes educators who could not otherwise afford to do so, to attend the AADE Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, in August 2004, as well as the 2005 and 2006 annual meetings. The scholarships will be awarded to a certified diabetes educator in each of the states in which Anthem does business -- Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Colorado and Nevada. In order to qualify for the educational scholarship, the diabetes educator must meet ALL of the following criteria and apply through the AADE Foundation scholarship process: (1) currently is a certified diabetes educator, (2) works with the adult population, (3) resides in one of the nine states where Anthem does business, (4) and demonstrates a strong interest in promoting e-health through the use of internet resources or web-based diabetes management tools in their practice. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for these educational scholarships. The AADE application process deadline is March 1, 2004.
