Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) said Tuesday that it has signed a
long-term sale-and-purchase agreement to supply liquefied natural
gas to Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) through its Mozambique LNG
project.
The Houston-based oil-and-gas producer said the 15-year
agreement calls for the supply of 1.2 million tonnes of liquefied
natural gas a year.
"Mozambique LNG is unique in its ability to supply liquefied
natural gas to a variety of geographic locations to serve its
customers, and this agreement gives us flexible access to Europe,
which is one of our key strategic markets," said Mitch Ingram,
Anadarko's executive vice president for international and deepwater
operations and project management.
The Anadarko-operated Mozambique LNG project will be
Mozambique's first onshore liquefied-natural-gas development, the
company said.
