LiDAR veteran will lead a team to expand Cepton’s software system development

Cepton Technologies, Inc., a provider of 3D LiDAR solutions for automotive, industrial, and mapping applications, today announced the hiring of LiDAR veteran Mr. Jerone Floor as the company’s Principal Software Architect. Floor brings significant experience in software development for data processing, and 3D object detection and tracking to the expanding Cepton leadership team. Before joining Cepton, Floor worked as a Vice President of Software Engineering for Quanergy, another LiDAR company, where he developed solutions for automotive perception control software.

Floor has more than 18 years of experience in the automotive industry as an experienced lead architect and developer of data processing solutions for 3D object perception for automotive applications. In his current role, Floor will utilize his expertise in developing firmware and software for real-time data processing to strengthen Cepton’s 3D perception solutions for object detection, tracking, mapping and identification. Other notable accomplishments in Floor’s career include winning an EMMY Award as part of Sportvision’s remote technical team and helping set a Guinness World Record in fuel economy as part of Team ORECA.
