Application deadline set for Dec. 30, 2024

GEICO is now accepting nominations for its 36th annual GEICO Military Service Awards, honoring the extraordinary achievements and dedication of enlisted service members across all military branches. This prestigious program honors seven individuals – one from each branch of the armed forces, and the National Guard – who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions not only in their military roles but also as engaged citizens in their local communities.

GEICO Military Service Award honorees receive a certificate of achievement and a $2,500 cash honorarium from the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation. Since this program’s inception, GEICO has contributed more than $250,000 to honor members of the military.

The 2024 GEICO Military Service Award nomination forms, recognizing service performed in 2024, are due no later than Dec. 30, 2024. Individuals interested in submitting a nomination can learn more about the application requirements for each branch of the military and where to send a completed application on GEICO’s Military Service Award homepage.

Nomination / eligibility details:

  • All six branches of the military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force) and the National Guard are eligible.
  • All currently serving enlisted service members (E-7 and below), including the National Guard and reserves, with at least one year of service remaining after Dec. 30, 2024, are eligible.
  • Each military branch may nominate all qualified candidates through their established procedures.

  • Nominations should specifically highlight the following two categories:
    • Off-duty accomplishments: community involvement, volunteerism, etc.
    • On-duty accomplishments: acts of exemplary service, how they lead by example, etc.
  • Nominations should be submitted in one package of no more than three pages by Dec. 30, 2024.

Nomination packages must include the following:

  • A completed GEICO Military Service Award nomination form.
  • A high-resolution, digital photo of the nominee in service dress uniform (head and shoulders view, without cover/headgear).
