Xulon Press presents encouragement for abuse survivors.

BELLFLOWER, Calif., Nov. 27, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author LaVerne Otis shares the multitude of emotions she has traversed as an abuse survivor in Engraved On His Palms($52.49, paperback, 9798868504907; $9.99, e-book, 9798868504914).

"Now as a senior citizen, God laid it on my heart to share my struggles with living life and growing in faith after an abusive childhood in order to help other people along their own journeys"

In this volume, Otis combines a number of literary styles, including devotionals, poems, laments, and narratives, as well as sharing scriptures that deal with issues she encountered on her road to healing from abuse. She understands the vacillation survivors feel between faith and doubt, hope and fear, and wishes to reassure them that God is ready to hold their hands through the entire process, just as He did for her.

"Now as a senior citizen, God laid it on my heart to share my struggles with living life and growing in faith after an abusive childhood in order to help other people along their own journeys," said Otis.

LaVerne Otis is now enjoying retirement after a forty-two-year career working at a major medical center in Long Beach, California. She praises God for sparing her life, as she is a two-time colon cancer survivor, and thanks Him for her special talent for writing, having won the 2012 Long Beach City College Drury Award for fiction. Otis also enjoys reading, bird watching, gardening, photography, and serving at her church in several areas of ministry, as well as transcribing her pastor's sermons.
